FAQS FROM OUR CLIENTS: WHAT IS CORRECT CRYOTHERAPY PROTOCOL?
- Blood pressure MUST be taken prior to every cryotherapy session due to the vasoconstriction of blood vessels, which increases blood pressure. Anyone with uncontrolled hypertension will NOT be allowed to proceed.
- All first sessions are limited to 2 minutes to evaluate the client’s initial reaction to the intense cold. This is a client safety measure, so there is no exception to this rule, regardless of prior experience.
- While in the unit, a client is required to wear cotton socks, gloves, and slippers. In addition, men must wear cotton boxer briefs. For the individual’s safety, we MUST protect all extremities! No jewelry or metals can be worn below the neck. Lotion and moisturizers should not be applied within an hour prior to a session.
- Children under the age of 14 are NOT permitted to use the cryosauna. Most children are unable to regulate body temperature until they have reached the age of maturation. Alternative treatments can be provided upon request.
